The GSA Executive Board positions are elected by graduate students in the annual election. Are you interested in advocating for student needs and interests? Think about running for one of our Executive Board positions!
All Executive Board positions serve for one school year, and are elected via an online ballot open to all graduate students in the Spring. To nominate yourself for a positions, please read the detailed job descriptions and send your nomination information to gsachair@ucsc.edu
To nominate yourself, send to gsachair@ucsc.edu by April 1:
- Your name
- A picture (optional)
- Department, degree sought, year in program
- Position you are running for
- A short statement (300 word max) addressing your interest and goals for the position, such as projects or issue areas you would like to address. If you have it, include your previous experience with the GSA and other relevant experience that prepares you for the position.

Forum
The GSA hosts a candidate’s forum at one of our Council Meetings. Come meet your fellow candidates as graduate students have the opportunity to talk to you about why you want to be on the Executive Board.
Candidate Information Session
We host an information session so that you can ask questions about the positions.
Position Descriptions
All positions officially start at the beginning of Summer Quarter. Newly elected officers will have the opportunity to meet with their outgoing predecessors during Spring Quarter, and are encouraged to be actively involved in the transition.
