Sexual Assault and Discrimination Prevention and Support

The following websites are useful to graduate students for knowing their rights and resources:

  • Title IX Office – The Title IX Office provides assistance in resolving and investigating complaints of sexual harassment and sexual violence (sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking). Additionally, they provide education and training to raise awareness and expand understanding of sexual harassment and sexual violence. The Title IX Office serves the entire UC Santa Cruz community.
  • CARE Advocate Office – CARE is the advocacy office at UC Santa Cruz, providing support and resources for survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. They provide services for students, including graduate students, staff and faculty. They also offer violence prevention education workshops and training. 
  •  Slug Support Program (Emergency Relief) – The UCSAC Slug Support Program was created to provide early intervention to students facing culminating problems and potential crisis. If you have had any number of crisis moments, please contact the Dean’s Office to see if they can help you out. Examples of the types of service that are supported through Slug Support:
    • Coordination with campus resources on behalf of a student (i.e. housing, Financial Aid, academic advising, etc.)
    • Financial assistance for food and toiletries
    • Emergency and transitional housing
    • Financial assistance for expenses such as medical co-payments, therapy co-payments, etc.
    • Financial assistance for student employment, internships, researchships
    • Assistance with Cal Fresh program application
    • Referrals for campus and community resources
    • Support to students who are in transition (i.e. taking a leave of absence, academic barrment, etc.)

  • Walnut Avenue Women’s Center
  • Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)
